Personal SURVIVAL PACK, Vehicle EMERGENCY PACK
HOME - OFFICE EMERGENCY SUPPLIES
There are many references availiable that can help you
plan and prepare your various emergency supplies for your individual needs,
some internet sites with links and information have been provided. Use your
own good judgement, their presence does not constitute an endorsement.
The contents of these lists may be more or less than you need. The
information is presented to give you something to think about, and
help develop your own plans.
Remember, ultimately you may have to transport this pack or packs. A Backpack
with fanny pack and belt pack with compartments and water bottle is good
balance and distribuition of items. Place the items in locations handy
during travel. Remember to rotate any food or water supplies, and check
pack periodically. You will want to have additional items that you can
use to live in your home as long as practical, but maintain the abillity
to pick up your Survival Pack and evacuate as necessary. Consider folding
dolly or handtruck, Suitcases or backpacks with wheels.
GENERAL STRATEGY- A small Personal Survival Pack stored in
your Vehicle, locker, or workplace is a good start. You may not be able to
get home or an
emergency may ocurr while you are away from home. Other Items are helpful
in the car too, a Vehicle Survival Pack, containing a few tools and safety
items is always good to have. A larger Primary Home-Office Emergency Pack at
home (Apartment,Mobile Home,Home, Office, Camp, etc), with an auxilary fanny or waist pack so you can carry the maximum
amount, distributed for your comfort (or with others carrying one of the
packs).
Home - Office Emergency Supplies should be stored preferably in a cool
place, where you can get to them in easily transported containers. A minimal
amount is perhaps food, water and medicine for 2 weeks, with 2 months or
more for each family member is recommended. (Do not forget your pets too!)
Make a list of items that may be located eslewhere, and place it outside
your pack so you will remember to gather those items too. Remember your Glasses, Medications, Sanitary Supplies, Canes,
Walkers, Crutches and Important Documents,Money and Credit Cards.
It is best that you read articles, and books on related topics of interest
for planning your portable and home emergency supply resources. Emergency
Planning, Food Storage, First Aid, Survival Skils, Emergency Medical Care,
Camping, Backpacking, Amateur Radio, and Personal Security are all topics
you may find of interest.
Good Luck and I hope you never need your packs, but if you do, I hope
you find this information useful.
