An observation...perhaps a prediction..relating to our ILLEGAL ALIEN PROBLEM and CURRENT WORLD EVENTS:

In the late 1960s while in College in the San Francisco Bay Area the webmaster was a young conservative living at "ground zero" for "flower Power", "Free Love" and music that is almost an anthem to "Baby-Boomers". He was on of the few students with button-down collar denim "work shirts" a van purchased with hard work building a business while going to school.

Memories of academic discussions and debates that predicted exactly what is happening now are remembered. The economic, legal and cultural degradation of the USA is now history because of our lack of interest in controlling our borders and teaching the value of being an "American" was ignored.

His suggestion for discussion back then was to have agressively enforced laws, physical security, ways to identify US citizens and to protect our economic and cultural way of life. Jokingly he spoke about building a no-man's land along the borders, much like those common in other countries. Even walled motes, complete with alligators were humoursly discussed. Somehow it just does not seem all that funny now.

It may be already too late, but I would like the US government in control of our borders. This is traditionally one of the very basic concepts and first responsibilities of being a nation state. I would also like to continue celebrating the positive development of our country and culture from the diversity of the contributions of our immigrating citizens and natives alike.

These days the issue of who the illegal alien is, and their intentions is nologer meaninful. A Mexican National seeking work to support his impoverished family at home, a citizen of another country seeking the educational or business rewards of the US both may share the name "ILLEGAL ALIEN". But lets not forget those that would take advantage of our disfunctional border security to bring in terrorists to infiltrate all parts of our country with the clear intent to destroy it are arriving daily. They are walking or driving accross the border or perhaps flying into an American city near you.

At the same time I would wish at this late date, our government to increase and preserve the level of education that might itself safeguard the very values that attracted people to our country in the first place.

Since our educational system has been so "dumbed-down" in recent generations, most young people have no clue what the principles and values were that established this country and created the very way of life that is called "American".

Ironically, this same lack of knowledge of world history and religious tenets leaves the majority of Americans clueless in understanding what values our very own country stand for, and why. Clearly as someone said, "those that have no knowledge of History are doomed to repeat it". At this point in time, I almost wish I had not even the modest recollection of history and what has happened around the world during the times of recorded history when wars involving religious zealots were raging. A refresher course is availiable on the evening news each day lately.

Unfortunately, the development of "high tech" inexpensive communications and weapons technolgy have made the "checkbook" the single pre-requisite to become a world power or well-armed "Terrorist" and player in history's most dangerous game.

Human nature being what it is...it is not a matter of "IF", but "WHEN" a significant group of events will combine to create events that will make substancial changes in America's daily life. Does 9-11, the Beruit Bombing, and simiar events mean anything to you? How about Oklahoma City, you learned how easy was it to mix some common inexpensive materials into a bomb that destroyed the Mura Federal Building. By the way this was aparently done by a couple of unremarkable young AMERICANS?

It is about time that we take those that spend their days postulating and working on ways to destroy the USA at their word. It may be ironic, but it may take some seemingly very un-american actions by our government, likely at the very "last minute" to preserve our country. It seems that the very "Traditional American Way of Life" that enabled our country to evolve be the hope of the "free world" may be undone, by those that would use "unrestricted freedom" insure it's very demise.

At very least, please consider collecting and storing some emergency supplies and the knowledge to use them. By carefully selecting a few specific items and having a simple plan in place the rewards can be significant.
